SHIPPING IN MASSACHUSETTS

In accordance with state law, wine, beer and liquor can be shipped to addresses within the state of Massachusetts.

AGE RESTRICTIONS

The purchase of alcohol by persons under the age of 21 is prohibited by law. You must be at least 21 years old to purchase wine, beer or spirits from Lighthouse Wine & Spirits. By placing an order on LighthouseWines.com, you are representing yourself to us as at least 21 years of age and that the person to whom it is being shipped is at least 21 years old.

DELIVERY TO BILLING ADDRESS ONLY

As a fraud prevention measure, we will only ship product to the Authorize.net-approved Billing Address.

UPS SHIPPING

Lighthouse Wine & Spirits uses UPS to ship all products. All shipments are insured against breakage and theft and packaged extremely well to mitigate breakage. A signature by someone 21 years or older is required by law to be presented to the UPS driver upon accepting delivery. There are no exceptions. If your package was re-routed to a UPS location, please bring a valid driver’s license to pick up your package. When possible, we encourage you to ship to your day-time address, usually a business location, if you are not home during normal UPS delivery hours.  UPS will not deliver to P.O. Boxes or APO/FPO (U.S. military) addresses.  Please be sure to designate a home or business shipping address during checkout.  

VINTAGE SUBSTITUTIONS

We make every effort to maintain current vintages in our store and website product databases.   When a specific vintage eventually sells out, our suppliers typically replenish our stock with the next year’s vintage. If this should happen, we will contact you by phone or email about your options. Please note that if the price per bottle is under $15.00 and your specific vintage becomes unavailable, Lighthouse Wine & Spirits reserves the right to ship the available vintage.

Some products vary more from vintage to vintage than others.  If your product has moved on to a new vintage, ask a staff member for tasting notes.  If we haven’t yet sampled the new vintage, we may be able to help you find tasting notes from respected critics like Robert Parker and his Wine Advocate staff, Antonio Galloni, James Suckling and Stephen Tanzer.  If you enjoyed the previous vintage, we typically recommend that you try the new vintage.  As always, your satisfaction is guaranteed.

FEES

Shipping & handling fees include UPS delivery and insurance as well as packaging materials that we have determined will properly protect your products.

INCLEMENT WEATHER

Wine is susceptible to damage when exposed to excessive heat or cold, even for short periods of time.  Heat creates a smashing Madeira but is terrible for most commonly enjoyed wines.  In the depths of summer and winter, we recommend delaying shipment until acceptable temperatures return.  Foam shippers provide exceptional protection against physical damage and are our preferred packing method but they do not protect from extreme heat or cold.  The insulating qualities of foam can actually extend the length of time that wine, that has become too hot or too cold, remains at those damaging temperatures.  If you choose immediate shipment, you assume all responsibility for the wine and we will not accept returns on any part of that shipment.

LOSS OR DAMAGE

In the unlikely event that your package is lost, please notify us immediately and we will initiate a trace with UPS.

Keep all packing materials.
Take photos of the box, packing materials and contents.
Note the number of damaged bottles.

We will replace or refund the lost/damaged bottles and arrange for UPS to examine and pick up and return the package to us at no expense to you.
